I was thinking after Jessica posted this picture that everyone should post a favorite memory of Heather in honor of her birthday. Here is mine; I loved when Heather used to pick me up from school and take me to get Arby's curly fries and a Roast beef sandwich and then take me to Hardees so i could play in the ball pit. HAHA what she wouldn't do for me:). Or the countless sleep overs where we would watch scary movies that mom would not approve of;) Love and miss you Heather so so much.

Great Idea Dee! My favorite memory is when I got to ride to SVR with her ALL BY MYSELF!!! So excited, we ate an entire package of keebler cookies (soft batch choc chip...Heathers favorite) and she bought me a new Berenstain Bear Book! Best ride to Wyoming ever! Also I still giggle every time I think of her sitting down in that "rollie chair" on the back patio and rolling right of the edge backward onto the grass yelling something like this *&^%$#!!
DeleteSuch a good idea! How can I pick just one?!? I used to love it when she would turn off the lights and sing 'If I could build a railroad', it sounded great and we would laugh how she couldn't do it with the lights on. Or how about our late night runs to Hardees for ultimate bacon cheeseburgers, playing scrabble on the train to Denver, the countless times she came to Sunrise to help me clean, her avenging angel protection she gave all of us, and endless puzzles in the garage while listening to Crystal Gayle. Who can forget when the firework unexpectedly went up in the air above her head and she fell over backwards on the bench and yelled S@#T!! That all being said my favorite memory of Heather is not one specific instance, but how she would let you come lay next to her and talk about whatever you wanted, books, movies, fun things, or your problems. What a constant security she was for me. Miss you Heather!!!!
DeleteThis is so very fun! I agree with Crissy! How do you choose one? I too loved the unexpected firework :) I love how Heather took such care of all of us and how she was not only willing to drive out to Wellsville to babysit but was like Mary Poppins with her bag of tricks, nothing grand but always special. Movies, books, treats, little trinkets, toys and games. It meant the world to the kids, and us. I loved her returned missionary hairy legs that shocked the daylights out of me. I love how even at the very end of her life she put others ahead of herself. As we talked one day about the future she informed me that not only was i pregnant (with Boston) but that there were more to come. And that she would return to let me know she was alright. (which she did) I love how she still protects us and that I feel her presence often. Whenever we have a close call we credit Heather with the save. I love you too Heather.

OK as I was trying to think back at all the memories I have of Heather, I did the same as probably all of you laughed and cried a bit ok so I cried more than a bit. But here are a couple of mine. First is going way back and one of my favorite memories is how I could get her riled up when I would tease her. I loved to shake the door knob of the bathroom door when she was changing she would get so mad at me. The best teasing was when Gray and I would stick our fingers under the door and say we could see her she would yell so loud you little pervert. But even after all that she still would do anything for you or to make you feel good. Also one time she was walking across the road by Old Main and I was in a power truck. She couldn't see who it was so when I stopped and honked at her she was so embarrassed. She did not like being the center of attention especially when class was out and there was a lot of people around when I was honking at her. She would always take time to listen to you, there was always time with her never a hurry what you had to say and needed was always important to her. I could go on and on. This is pretty fun.
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots Heather miss ya, see ya (not to soon I hope lets go for maybe 50 or 60yrs) love Pokey Bear
