Hawaii!!!!

Sorry for the delay in posting!  We have arrived In Hawaii and been having such a good time!  We drove to vegas on Saturday the 22nd so that we can catch our flight out of McCarran Airport.  The drive was an easy drive and with me at the helm, it didn't take very long.  It's okay, dad, I only hit 100 a couple of times.  Our plane flew out Sunday morning and we were excited and ready to go!

Our plane got turned around about 30 minutes out into the ocean due to an electrical problem with one of the generators. I didn't see any smoke or fire, so we probably could have made it.... Those pilots had no sense of adventure!!!  Back at McCarran airport, I had to restrain mom from all the slot machines...

But thankfully we were soon back in the air and on our way.  The flight was fantastic and despite the initial problem, we were very happy with Allegiant Air and would definitely fly out of Vegas with them again.

We arrived in Honolulu at 8 Sunday night and were welcomed in full Hawaiian fashion with Leis (made me so happy....I have dreamed of that ever since the Brady Bunch Hawaii episodes!).  Matt, Ivy, Boston and Alivia had come to the airport and we were so excited to see them.  The airport is open air and you instantly could 'smell and feel' Hawaii.  I am in love!!!!!  We traveled from Honolulu to Hau'ula, and I literally hung out the window the whole time!  We stopped for a short stop at the beach, so I could feel the sand and take in the ocean mist.  We arrived and Matt and Min's and got to get the rest of our hugs and loves in.  Min has done a fantastic job with the house and everything is decorated so cute!!  We were greeted with an Aloha sign and mints on our pillows!

We woke up on Monday the 23rd and Min took us up to the north shore where the waves were soooo huge!  I was mesmerized and could have watched them for hours.

Sully was my buddy when I was down feeling the mist and taking pictures.

The rest of Monday and all of Tuesday were spent at Bellows Air Force Station.  It is an old base that is now mostly a 'Rest and Relaxation' area.  There are small apartments on the beach and so we stayed there Monday night with Matt, Liv and Wes. What an amazing beach!!!  We went down to the beach for a short time on Monday night and I got my first taste of body boarding (love it!!!) and only got tumbled by the waves once that night!  Here is the crew at the Bellows Beach:

Tuesday we spent the entire day at the beach.  Liv and I literally were in the water all day with about an hour break for lunch.  We boarded the waves and then would also float the waves.  So much fun!  It was all I hoped for and more!!! We had some tumbles, but they were just part of the fun.  We kept looking for bigger and bigger waves!

We even got mom out in the water. She wanted some pics and as I was taking them a big wave came through....good thing Liv was there to help her...I was more than happy to keep taking pictures as if unfolded... That is what she asked for, right???

What a fabulous time we had there. Here was our sunrise from the backdoor of the apartment.

And as mom was out taking pictures, this came floating by.....so cool!  What an amazing place Hawaii is!!!!  So excited for our remaining adventures!
