Dad & I Went to the Celtic Festival & Highland Games at the American West Heritage Center. It was so much fun. I loved the Highland Games, the bagpipes, the food, the booths, the music....oh yeah, and the KILTS!! Definitely will be going again next year. We steered clear of the Haggis, but ate Scottish Pasties, delicious shortbread and washed it down with homemade root beer from a Scottish Flask. What a grrrrand dae i' twas!
Some of the guys getting ready to compete in the Highland Games.
Throwing the stone. Very much like the shotput.
At this booth kids could try and 'Conquer the Giant' or 'Challenge the Hero'.
A Falconer with his Falcons and Eagles.
The Color Guard at the Opening Ceremony. Very fun to watch...the individual clans marched in carrying their crests or flags as they announced the clan name.
This is Dad by the cute train at the Heritage Center. We were the first passengers of the day!
How Cool! Sign me up for the kilt measuring booth next year, ha ha!
